LAMELLAR SETTLERS

The lamellar settler whose function is to separate the elements of medium and heavy matter (sand, clay), which carries water and impairing subsequent treatment, as filters clogging, generating deposits in pipes, etc.
The particles in the lamellar plates reach the surface of each plate following the vector resultant of the two forces: the drag of the fluid and gravity.
Once on the lamellar plates particles are sliding down to be evacuated latter on the thickening zone.

Applications:
Settling of water from rivers, lakes for further filtration and purification.
In Desalination plants with open seawater intake for clarification prior to the filtration system.

Advantages:
Prevent filter clogging, reduced deposits, and reduce energy consumption linked to excessive filters backwash.
